Hi, Diane. Am related to Wm. Arnold 1636 of, Pawtuxet area. And yes, am related to Benedict Arnold, he is my 3rd. cousin 4 times removed. Have a good week, Allan.
Hello again. Am hoping that someone will be able to provide some info on, George Arnold. He was in the 2nd. Pawtuxet Rangers, American Revolution. Thanks, Allan.
Allen, try reading the 8 Weeks post (see the tabs up top) about military records. Ultimately, people research their families. It’s usually necessary if you want to get it right. And about your other question, I’m not aware of what the Arnold connections might be with Mayflower families. An interesting question. You would need to follow the various lines back to check out the possibilities. I wish there was better work available on the Arnolds.
Hello. I will be spending a lot of time going over this book. Am glad to be related to the Arnold family through my grandmother. Am proud to be related to the Hopkins families(2) that produced a signer of the Declaration Stephen Hopkins. Are there any Arnold’s that married into the Mayflower families? Because of the Phelps, Arnold and, Church families I am a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.Thanls for your time, Allan.
What a great resource!!! Having come from a deep-rooted family history of Rhode Island families, I really appreciate the one-stop-shop that you have provided. I’m sure we’re distant cousins, having descended from such surnames as WILLIAMS (Roger), BALLOU, OLNEY, ANGELL, SMITH (both lines), MOWRY, ARNOLD, WHITMAN, FARNUM, MATHEWSON, ETC, ETC… Thanks for my GG Grandmother, Fidelia Adelaide (SMITH) DEAETT, of Smithfield, RI for this wonderful heritage. If you’d like to share, please email me.
