This page is for descendants of Torquil and Sarah (MacLean) MacLean of Englishtown, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Some posts on this blog about the MacLeans:
It is my intention to continue to build pre-1950 pictures and stories about the MacLeans. If you have one to contribute, or are a second cousin, please let me know!
Our most recent picture is of my grandparents, Jack and Josie MacLean, which I copied from an old album of cousin Jo-Anne MacDonald Wood.

Jack MacLean, Josie MacLeod (dark skirt), and Jack’s sister-in-law Sadie (Campbell) MacLean, in Englishtown, approximately 1918. Used with permission of Jo-Anne MacDonald Wood.

Sarah MacLean and daughter Alice. Used with permission of Jo-Anne MacDonald Wood. Edited by Derek MacLean.

I am a Great-Great Granddaughter of Torquil McLean. My Grandmother was Alice “Lexy” McLean-MacLeod-Gillan. What a wonderful surprise to find them both pictured on your blog. I even have the exact same photograph of Torquil.
Sande, how nice to hear from you! Such a large family, and so scattered today. My grandmother was a MacLeod. I should make a page for them as well. Thanks for leaving a note!
